Book now

All the care, step by step

From the first hello until I hand your dog back to you, every step is done with attention to your dog: time to settle in, care chosen for their coat, and breaks whenever they're needed

  1. 01Getting to know each other

I give your dog time to look around and get used to me. Together we talk about their character, habits and your wishes for the haircut, so the important things are clear from the start

  2. 02Before photo and a careful check

I photograph your dog before grooming and check the coat, skin and teeth. This helps me choose the right care and notice anything worth discussing with you later

  3. 03Careful nail trimming

I trim the nails while watching your dog's reactions closely. If touching the paws feels unpleasant, I go step by step and give them a break

  4. 04Two-stage bath

First the coat is cleaned with a deep-cleansing shampoo, then with a shampoo chosen for its type and the skin. I pick professional products individually for your dog

  5. 05A few extra minutes of care

I choose a mask for the coat type and condition and leave it on for 5–10 minutes to work, then rinse it out thoroughly

  6. 06Rest time and ear care

After the bath I wrap your dog in a towel and let them rest a little. Meanwhile I gently clean the outer part of the ears

  7. 07Drying, brushing and mats

I dry the coat carefully, brush out loose undercoat and gently work through mats, adapting to the coat and your dog's reactions and pausing when needed

  8. 08Gentle care for sensitive areas

I tidy the hair around the private area and the paw pads and clean around the eyes. I work gently: these are sensitive areas that need special attention

  9. 09A haircut made for your dog

I choose shape and length based on coat type, breed traits and your wishes, thinking not only about the look but also about how easy the coat will be to care for at home

    Only in the Full package
  10. 10After-grooming photo shoot

I photograph your dog after grooming so you can see the result, compare it with before and keep their new look

  11. 11Treats and time to unwind

To finish: a treat and a little perfume. Then your dog can move around freely and rest until you arrive

  12. 12Handover and care tips

I tell you how the grooming went: what was easy for your dog, what needs attention and what I noticed. I explain how to care for the coat at home and when to plan the next visit

Aleksandra Godovkina

Groomer and founder of "AG Dog Care" in Munich

My path into grooming began with my own dog, Dunya. I was looking for a groomer who would handle her gently, understand her coat and give her as much time and attention as she really needed. In the end I started caring for her myself, and step by step it became my profession

My love for dogs brought me to grooming, and training and constant practice help me keep improving: choosing the right products, understanding different coat types and finding the right approach to every dog

At "AG Dog Care" I work only with your dog, in a calm setting without salon bustle or other dogs barking. All my attention goes to them: I let your dog settle in, introduce the tools gradually and watch their reactions closely. If they get tired or anxious, I pause and adjust the plan. Their comfort matters to me as much as the quality of care and a neat haircut

Before we start, we talk about your dog's habits and your wishes. After the visit I tell you how it went and give you tips for care at home. It matters to me that you understand what's happening with your dog and feel free to ask me anything

Frequently asked questions

Answers to questions about care, prices and getting ready for a visit. Didn't find yours? Message me and we'll talk it through

Which dogs do you work with?

I currently take dogs up to 20 kg. I mainly work with adult dogs who handle grooming calmly and know the procedures. Puppies by prior arrangement: we discuss age, grooming experience and the best way to get to know each other in advance. I don't take dogs that behave aggressively

Can I book a puppy?

Yes, by prior arrangement. The first visit is mainly about getting to know the place, the tools and the procedures. I give the puppy time to settle in and introduce care gradually, watching their reactions. A full haircut isn't always possible on the first visit: sometimes we start with a bath, drying and hygiene and introduce the haircut later. Tell me the age and breed, and which procedures your puppy is already used to at home

Why is there a surcharge for dogs under 18 months?

€60 is added to the chosen package for the extra time adaptation takes: gradually introducing the procedures, paying attention to your dog's reactions and taking the breaks they need. The surcharge usually applies up to 18 months; in rare cases only up to one year, if the dog already handles grooming confidently and calmly. I judge this individually and discuss it with you in advance. How much care is possible depends on how ready your dog is: a full haircut isn't always possible on the first visits

My dog is afraid of grooming. Can we still come?

We arrange this kind of visit in advance. Tell me what exactly causes the fear: the unfamiliar place, drying, brushing, paw care or being apart from you. This helps me prepare and plan enough time. I let your dog settle in, introduce the tools gradually and take breaks. If a procedure is too hard, we talk about how to change the care. Sometimes it's better to split the care over several visits and introduce the procedures step by step

Do you take dogs that might bite?

I don't take dogs that behave aggressively. If your dog has bitten before, tried to bite during grooming or reacted sharply to being touched, please tell me before booking and describe the situations. That way we can check in advance whether my way of working suits your dog. Please don't leave this until the appointment

Can I book an older dog or a dog with health issues?

We discuss this kind of visit in advance. Tell me about limitations, sensitive skin, touches your dog dislikes and any vet recommendations to keep in mind during grooming. We choose a manageable amount of care and plan time for breaks. For an older dog, comfortable hygiene care may come first, and I adapt the haircut to their condition

What if my dog has a lot of mats?

Before booking, send me photos of the coat and the matted areas. This helps me estimate the work and the time needed. At the appointment I check how dense the mats are, the condition of the skin and how your dog tolerates brushing. Not every mat can be worked out gently: if keeping the length would be too hard on your dog, we discuss a shorter haircut or another plan. Any extra work and its price are agreed before I start

How long does a visit take?

I plan at least two and a half hours for every dog, so there's time to get to know each other, for thorough care and for breaks. The actual length depends on the package, the coat condition and your dog's reactions. Mats or adaptation may need more time. When you bring your dog, we agree on a pick-up time. If the visit takes longer, I'll let you know

Can I stay with my dog?

Let's talk about it before the first visit. Tell me how your dog copes with being apart from you and with new places. We agree in advance how to arrange the introduction and your presence, so you know how the visit will go. In my experience, some dogs focus better on the procedures when their owner isn't there: with you nearby they may get more distracted, seek attention or try to go to you. So we agree on your presence in advance, based on your dog's reactions

How do I prepare my dog for grooming?

Before the visit, plan a long, calm walk so your dog can go to the toilet, move and sniff everything interesting. Leave enough time to arrive without rushing. Don't feed your dog for 2–3 hours before the visit; if they're on a special diet recommended by the vet, let me know in advance. Tell me about skin and health issues and how your dog reacted to previous groomings. You can send photos of mats and examples of the haircut you'd like before we meet

How often should my dog be groomed?

With regular, thorough care at home, the recommended interval between visits is 4–8 weeks. We choose the frequency individually, based on coat type, haircut and your dog's lifestyle. After the visit I'll suggest when to come next and how to care for the coat at home. The base prices apply to dogs without mats who come for grooming at least every 6 weeks

How can I pay for my visit?

You can pay by card, in cash, via PayPal or by bank transfer. Contactless card payments with Tap to Pay are also available
